Orange Wednesday 2for1 cinema tickets, pizza

I’ve just signed up for a free Orange PAYG SIM card with £5 credit to take advantage of Orange Wednesday which offers 2 for 1 on cinema tickets and Pizza Express. It works fantastically and is great if you’re a film buff.
What is Orange Wednesdays?

Orange Wednesday is a promotion for customers on the Orange network in the UK. It offers two deals on Wednesdays:
- 2for1 on cinema tickets (at most cinemas in the UK) on Wednesday
- 2for1 on pizza from Pizza Express on Wednesdays
How do I claim my 2for1 cinema ticket?
If you are an Orange customer, you need to text ‘FILM’ to 241. You’ll get sent an “e-ticket” to your mobile phone which allows you 2for1 at the cinema. It will cost 35p though.
What about the 2for1 pizza?
You can get 2 pizzas for the price of 1 at Pizza Express by downloading a voucher from the Orange website. You’ll need to fill it in with details of your Orange Wednesday text ticket.
I’m not an Orange customer; how can I get these benefits?
You’ll need to be on the Orange network. But that doesn’t mean you need a new phone, or you even need to use Orange to make calls.
Orange are currently giving out free Orange SIM cards with £5 of credit. That’s enough to give you 14 Orange Wednesdays without having to top up a penny. What’s more, they’ll also give you 60p in cashback when you sign up for a free SIM.
To get your free SIM card with £5 credit, register on TopCashback* and then search for Orange.

Do I need to use Orange as my main phone provider?
No. You just need to have enough credit (35p) to get your text ticket. You should make a call at least once every 6 months to prevent Orange from disconnecting you. According to MoneySavingExpert, a free call to Orange to check your call balance (453) counts as a call.
An alternative for students…
If you’re a student, you can get 2for1 at Cineworld from StudentBeans.com. You do need to sign up for this, you’ll need a student card, and they will spam you. The advantage is you can use this between Monday and Thursday.
