No chat for Opera users?

February 20th, 2006

When I logged in to Gmail today I noticed that I had finally had the built in Google Chat in Gmail. I wanted to test it out by talking to myself (ha) so I opened up Opera and Opera didn’t get Gmail Chat. Gmail Chat seems to be enabled for both Internet Explorer and Firefox but not Opera when logged into the same account.

It’s actually quite interesting looking at Gmail in the browsers side by side. IE doesn’t get the curves which Firefox and Opera get.

IE does get the curves, unless I’m blind. Can you elaborate what you mean, because your screenshot clearly shows the curves. Unless you mean IE6?

Or do you mean the actual chat window?

I’m blind, they are there. I was looking at the highlighted Inbox and it seems like I overcropped it a bit. My mistake

When using Opera 9, select "Mask as Mozilla" in the site preferences.
In Opera 8.54, select "Identify as Mozilla" in the F12 short menu.
This should help. As far as I can remember, it does not fully function in 8.54, but in 9.0.
