Places enabled on Firefox Builds Tommorow

February 15th, 2006

According to the Mozilla Developer Centre, Places is going to be turned on Firefox Trunk and Branch tommorow. The new Places system delivers a long overdue overhaul to bookmarks and history. It is based on SQLite technology which is also found in the doomed PHP 5.

It’s worth giving tommorow’s builds a go.

  1. No Places in Firefox 2.0
  2. Places enabled in Firefox
  3. Replacing Browser Bookmarks with Tagging
  4. Opera Weekly Builds
  5. svg:foreignobject in Firefox 3

PHP 5 is the version that IMO no hosts will ever upgrade to and will be skipped, especially seeing PHP 6 is around the corner.

Places has been disabled again. Should be back early next week.
