Help Firefox

January 12th, 2006

Some guy set up a rip off of the million dollar homepage with the intent of helping Firefox. The idea is you pay $100 for a 100 pixel (10×10) advertising slot on the site. The $1 million will then be donated to Mozilla.

There is no guarantee that the money will indeed find its way to Mozilla; I’d personally donate directly to Mozilla.

It seems like every man and his dog now has a million dollar homepage.

We have to take down the site for now but we hope to be back as soon as possible.

I don’t know.. seems a bit fishy, why did they need to take it offline?

Personally, if I donated/bought pixels to advertise on that site, and then they "had to take it down" I’d be pretty upset. Who’s to say it’s not a scam?

Host not being able to take the strain maybe? A reason should have been given.
