Geneone Updates

November 5th, 2005

I’ve just upgraded our installation of Geneone across neonDragon.net to the latest build. This fixes several bugs and adds some new features.

Opera 9 WYSIWYG
I had some complaints from Opera 9 users when I switched from widgEditor to TinyMCE because TinyMCE 2.0RC3 didn’t correctly support Opera 9. I’ve now updated to the latest version of TinyMCE, TinyMCE 2.0RC4 and added support for Opera 9. This version also fixes some bugs with Firefox 1.5 and loads of other stuff. TinyMCE seems to work fine in Opera 9 apart from the broken back button. Safari WYSIWYG support is still disabled.

FOAF Profile Import
When you edit your profile, you can now choose to import your profile from a FOAF file on another website or a file on your hard drive. It doesn’t seem to allow you to import from an existing user on neonDragon.net; I suspect this is due to my internal IP patch.

Change E-Mail Address
A few Evolution players requested that their e-mail address be changed because their old e-mail address didn’t work any more. It made sense to include this as part of Geneone. You can change your e-mail address on the Settings page.

Aside from that, there has been some refactoring, cleanup and a upgrade to PEAR 1.4.4. Although we don’t use the PEAR installer, it made sense to ensure we were running the latest version anyway. Sysadmins, etc. should read the security advisory on PEAR installer 1.4.2
