Handwriting Analysis

June 9th, 2006

Graphology is the so called science of analyzing someones handwriting to determine their personality. There was an experiment last year where a sample of Bill Gates’ doodles were given to graphologists. They were told that it was Tony Blair’s doodles.

Some of the results made alarming reading. According to a graphologist consulted by the Times, Mr Blair’s use of triangles represented a "death wish", symbolic, she said, of "the risk to his political career".

Conversely, graphologist Helen Taylor, quoted in the Independent, found the badly formed circles revealed "an inability to complete tasks".

Of course, Bill Gates is the most successful businessman in the world and this experiment showed that Graphology isn’t really an exact science and cannot be relied on.

I came across this page at S-Cool the other day. It’s a quick and easy to follow guide to analyse your handwriting. Of course, there is no evidence that graphology actually works, but it’s good fun anyway. Before visiting the page, grab a piece of paper and write the letters d, t and g. Sign your name under it.

According to the page, I am:

  • Independent, cunning
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, is forward thinking
  • Unrealistic, unfulfilled
  • An amiable and friendly personality and an ability to communicate and mix with ease

Muha, I took the test and got all the worst qualities available in the list. Luckily I don’t believe in that kind of stuff, it’s more or less like horoscope. It doesn’t contain nice "every-day-tips" though.
